| Investigation and analysiswereperform ed onthepolycyclicaromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs) pollutionsinthesoilsfrom five areasofHuaian. Theresultsindicatedthattheaveragemassconcentration ofPAH sinthe soils was 1 641μg/kg. The mass concentrations of PAH s were 3 421μg/kg, 1 730μg/kg and 1779μg/kgrespectivelyin farm landsnearSouthH uaihaiRoad, onthe GrantCanalbank ofthesouth cityand ofthe New Beijing Village. The PAHspollution washeavy andthepollutantfactorswereA cenaphthylene, Phenanthrene, Fluoranthene, Chrysene, lndeno[1,2,3- c,d]pyrene and Benzo[g,h,i]perylene, etc. The mass concentrationsofPAHswere716.3 g/kgand560.9 g/kgseparatelyin farmlandsnearH ongzeLakeand Da dunisland ofH ongze Lake.
