| In thispaperusing XAD-2 resin based passive airsamplers(PAS), weinstalled six sampling sitesin Wolong Natural Reserve. Annualaveragesofpersistentorganic pollutantsin air were determined in 2005 — 2007. Organochlorine compoundssuch as HCB, HCHs, DDTsand PCBs were determined by the gas chromatography- high resolution massspectrometry method. The relative difference between PAS duplicates was usuallylessthan 9% and acceptable. The detectionlimitsforPOPsfellintherangeof1.0 pg/m 3 to5.9 pg/m 3 .Annualaveragesoftwo consecutive yearsshow good consistenceand regularity. W iththe XAD-2 resin based pas sive airsamplers;itisfeasibleto determine cost 2 effectively the average concentrationsofPOPsforone yearor halfa year.
