By using the method of variance analysis and fuzzy clustering analysis,the optimization of the monitoring points in Liuxihe reservoir were studied.The results show that the reservoir water quality was good,between the monitoring points and the vertical sampling points were no significant difference. Four of the reservoir monitoring points could be divided into three classes, the rest of the monitoring points could be divided into four categories. The all factors into consideration,the Liuxihe reservoir monitoring points scheme was determined.Three kinds of sections (contrast section, controlling section and outlet section) were determined, and seven monitoring points were included in the final monitoring scheme.
