| ThePb, Zn and Cuwere detectedinthesurfacesedimentson upriverofwastewaterdrainagecanalfrom Lechangmine, themiddleriverofShuangjiangstream and downriverofWujiangriver. Theresultsindicatedthatratesbetween heavy metalconcentration and nationalcontrolstandards forthe Pb in sludge were 2.54×10 3 mg/kg, 1.33×10 3 mg/kg and30.7 mg/kg, thatforthe Zn 1.01×10 3 mg/kg, 2.48×10 3 mg/kg and 156 mg/kg,thatfortheCu 42.9 mg/kg, 68.8 mg/kg and 69.4 mg/kg. Thepollution load index( I PL ) of surfacesedimentsonthe3 partsofW ujiangriverwas14.0, 10.6 and 1.46separatelyandshowed heavy pollution. Thesedimentsonthe upriverand Shuangjiangstream could notbe directly used foragricultureand should becarefully dredged, transported andtreated. ThesedimentsonthedownriverofWujiangrivercouldbeusedfor agriculture.
